Haptika at the Build Peace Salon

Come see Haptika at Denver’s Build Peace Salon!

About the event:

“This “Build Peace Salon,” a mini-version of the Build Peace Conference >http://howtobuildpeace.org/<, will highlight the work of 3-4 local organizations using peacetech.

Build Peace explores art and cultural works as tools for conflict mediation, reconciliation and rebuilding, storytelling, heritage, and education, with a specific focus on the impact and increasing relevance of technology on all aspects of artistic and cultural work. We want to weave arts experiences and the perspective of artists throughout the event, as well as offer dedicated spaces to exploring arts-based methodologies.”

The Build Peace Salon is a part of an international event: Build Peace 2016

From the website:

We explore technologies to enhance the impact of peacebuilding initiatives.

How can information and communications technologies, games, networking platforms and other technology tools enhance the impact of a broad range of peacebuilding activities?

Build Peace brings together local peacebuilders and technologists to re-think approaches.

How can we better approach early warning and crisis response, attitude and behavior change, collaboration, dialogue, and policy advocacy?

We believe that technology can shape the future of peacebuilding.

Technology tools – and the social and organizational forms they help create – can shift the balance of power, allowing local peacebuilders to challenge prevalent narratives and identities.
